We would like to introduce you to an antique British sterling silver vinaigrette.

Vinaigrette is a French word meaning "vinegar," and is the name given to the small containers used to hold flavoring salts.

This work was created by JOHN THROPP of Birmingham, England in 1819.
This vinaigrette is from the English Regency era, when vinaigrettes were all the rage.
Both lids are very delicately decorated and what appears to be the name of the first owner is engraved in the center of the top lid.
The interior decoration is beautiful, the gold plating is well preserved, and it is in good condition.
