This is a card case that would have been custom-made for an upper-class person at the time.
The surface decoration is so beautiful that no two pieces are alike.
This work was created by Charles Chesterman, Birmingham, England, 1898.
Both sides are decorated with floral and scroll motifs.
It is a double-opening type and still has the blue cloth lining, but the pockets are gone.
