This technique, called silver overlay, involves covering the surface of glass with pure silver decorations, and was widely produced in the United States and other countries from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.
This is a decanter from the French brand "Saint Graal" from around the 1950s.
The entire piece is decorated with silver overlays in an Atomic Star pattern.
The lid closes tightly and there are no leaks.
