We would like to introduce an antique pocket watch with niello decoration.

The watch has a case inlaid with black alloy material on a silver base called Niello.
The year of manufacture and manufacturer are unknown, but the inner lid is stamped with the 1876 Philadelphia World's Fair, suggesting it was made by an American watchmaker around the end of the 19th century.
It is decorated with niello inlay and the cartouche is gold plated.
The black part of Niello is fragile and often peels off, but this is in excellent condition with very little peeling.
It is unknown if it has been overhauled, but the balance wheel is in good condition and ticks along smoothly.
