This pocket watch from 1839 has a beautifully engraved metal dial and a pure silver case.
This is a so-called "unnamed" pocket watch, without a manufacturer or brand name.
In the 19th century, Britain was known as the world's factory, and there were many such now-defunct watchmakers.
The mainspring is key wound, and the time is set by inserting a key directly into the center of the hands and turning it.
The overhaul history is unknown, and the balance wheel is a little weak, but it works with good precision.
