Vintage American silver-overlay perfume bottle, Art Nouveau, by ALVIN

Introducing vintage American perfume bottles.

This technique, called silver overlay, involves covering the surface of glass with pure silver decorations, and was widely produced in the United States from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.
This is a perfume bottle made by the American company "ALVIN" that is thought to date from the early 20th century, and is decorated in Art Nouveau style with an iris motif throughout.
The lid fits perfectly and it can still be used as a perfume bottle.
