This sterling silver (92.5% pure silver) pill case was made in the UK in 1899, during the late Victorian era. While it's a lovely size that fits in the palm of your hand, the dynamic scrollwork (swirling decoration) engraving covering the entire lid still exudes an aristocratic presence even after more than 120 years.
It was crafted by the prestigious "M Bros," known for their meticulous silversmithing at the time. Traces of soft gold gilding (gold plating) from age remain on the inside of the lid, showcasing the luxurious craftsmanship of the period. It is perfect not only as a pill container but also as a jewelry case to hold a cherished ring.
