1895 Antique British Sterling Silver Brooch, Japonisme, Bird Design, 3.6g, Richard John Wakefield

This piece was made in 1895, during the late Victorian period, by Richard John Wakefield in Birmingham, England.
The "three-color" scheme, with rose gold and yellow gold decorations on a sterling silver base, evokes the warmth of a spring sunbeam. The design of a small bird and flora, expressed through engraving, seems to tell of the naturalism cherished at the time.
