The handle is beautifully adorned with the traditional German "Hildesheim Rose" (a three-dimensional rose decorative motif originating from the legend of the thousand-year-old rose at Hildesheim Cathedral).
The most striking feature is the intricate openwork on the blade, a distinguished design where adorable angels and roses emerge from flowing scroll patterns.
It fits snugly into a paper case, likely from the jeweler who sold it.
