SKU: 202308263660
Introducing the American antique sterling silver chatelaine case.
A chatelaine is a belt that can be attached to a belt and worn around the waist.
Women's clothes at that time did not have pockets, so they wore pens and sewing tools in this way.
This is a chatelaine made in the United States around the latter half of the 19th century.
A set of a sterling silver bottle, a celluloid memo pad, and a pencil holder.
Each is beautifully decorated, and the bottle and memo pad are engraved with a monogram that seems to be the initials of the first owner.
The bottle is cracked and needs to be repaired with waterproof tape to fill it with liquid, but the memo pad and pencil are still usable.
We hope this lovely antique silver will brighten up your day!
