A Vesta case was a small match holder from the time, with a file on the bottom for matching matches.

This is a work by Joseph Gloster from Birmingham, England in 1904.
Delicate scroll decoration throughout.
The lid opens and closes smoothly and closes perfectly, and is in good storage condition.
