SKU: 202403294188
We would like to introduce you to an antique British sterling silver Vesta case.
A Vesta case was a small match holder from that time, with a match file attached to the bottom.
This is a work by Howard James of Birmingham, England, from 1876.
The entire piece is decorated with intricate floral carvings.
There is a problem with the leaf spring on the hinge of the lid so it won't stay in the open position, but the lid opens and closes smoothly and closes snugly.
It is in such good condition that it is hard to believe it was made nearly 150 years ago.
We hope this once-in-a-lifetime encounter will be a special one for you!
