Introducing antique British sugar casters

This is a 1910 painting by Hukin & Heath of Birmingham, England.
It is a silver utensil used to sprinkle powdered sugar on sour fruits.
I think you could also use powdered spices other than sugar.
This sugar caster features a beautiful combination of cranberry-colored glass and a sterling silver lid.
