This is a work by the American company "Gorham" and is thought to have been made around 1890.
The blade has the words "1869 Mother 1894" on it, suggesting it was given to or by a mother to celebrate the 25th anniversary of something.
In addition to the engravings mentioned above, the blade and handle are beautifully decorated.
